A closing cashier at Giant Food processes customer transactions and completes end-of-shift store recovery duties on the front end.

Requirements

• Require evening and weekend availability to cover closing shifts.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift or move goods (frequently up to 25 lbs).
• Basic math proficiency, attention to detail, and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Scan and enter item numbers, bag goods, handle cash, debit, and credit payments, and give correct change.
• Welcome shoppers, answer questions, and provide a polite, accurate checkout experience.
• Close out and balance the cash register at the end of the shift.
• Restock returns, candy, gift cards, and snack displays near the registers.
• Clean the register area, assist with cart collection, and keep the front end tidy.
