About The Position

This role is responsible for providing excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, accurately processing sales transactions, and ensuring customers feel welcomed and appreciated. The Cashier Trainee will operate the cash register, handle payments, and maintain a clean workstation. This position also involves encouraging customer donations through the change round-up program, assisting with merchandise display, and maintaining the overall image and cleanliness of the sales floor. The role requires adherence to all company policies and procedures.

  • Ability to engage in frequent bending, stretching, stooping, standing, walking, and twisting.
  • Ability to push equipment on wheels weighing 50 lbs. to 150 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior work experience in the service industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greets customers warmly and provides friendly, attentive service.
  • Answers phone calls promptly and acknowledges all customers and employees.
  • Operates cash register, receives payments, and records sales transactions.
  • Balances cash drawers at the end of each shift, ensuring accuracy.
  • Encourages customers to donate through the change round-up program.
  • Checks and cleans dressing rooms.
  • Retrieves shopping carts from the parking lot.
  • Places apparel and other items for sale on proper racks and shelves.
  • Removes empty hangers from sales floor racks.
  • Ensures a clean and empty workstation at the end of each shift.
  • Pulls and rotates store merchandise as instructed.
  • Assists with putting carts of merchandise on the sales floor.
  • Transfers racks from the back room to the sales floor.
  • Maintains the image of the sales floor and assists in store housekeeping, including cleaning floors, fixtures, and restrooms.
  • Maintains adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
