About The Position

This position assists store customers with donating, selecting, and purchasing items; operates and maintains a cash register; responds to customer questions; maintains clean and orderly store displays; and helps ensure the security of store items and the cash register. The worker also receives, sorts, and prepares donated items for store display, evaluates items according to established standards, and helps keep the warehouse area orderly and clean. The position is scheduled for 28 hours per week at the KT-Madisonville Store in Madisonville, Kentucky. The posting describes the position as part time with benefits, including PTO and AFLAC insurance.

Requirements

Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Ability to operate a cash register.
Ability to perform routine mathematical computations and count change.
Ability to frequently walk and/or stand, kneel, or squat, with shorter periods of sitting.
Ability to lift, carry, and/or push or pull light objects weighing less than 25 pounds.
Moderate mobility, with duties involving frequent changes between sitting, standing, and walking.
High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a retail store is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with donating, selecting, and purchasing store items.
Operate and maintain a cash register, respond to customer questions, and help ensure the security of store items and the cash register.
Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of store displays.
Receive, inspect, and sort donated items, including clothes, shoes, household items, and bric-a-brac, according to category and condition.
Select items suitable for store display and distribute them to the appropriate area for further sorting and pricing.
Discard items according to established procedures.
Hang clothes on hangers and place them on clothes racks.
Help maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area.
