About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate supports store operations by serving customers, operating the register, maintaining merchandise, and keeping the store and surrounding areas clean and safe. The role includes working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and being prepared to stay on your feet for most of the shift. Team members may be cross-trained in other departments, including deli, and are expected to help wherever needed. The position requires a friendly, reliable, detail-oriented approach and the ability to communicate effectively in English and perform basic math. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, able to meet the stated lifting requirements, and able to pass applicable pre-employment screening. Retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be prepared to work on your feet for most of the shift and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
Friendly, positive demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and responsible.
Flexible and able to take on varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Previous retail or customer service experience is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and efficiently.
Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while following age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly customer service and upsell when appropriate.
Deep-clean high-use restrooms.
Wipe down and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
Pick up litter and trash from the store floor and lot area.
Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep merchandise fresh and full.
Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Work as a team player and assist wherever needed.
