About The Position
The Cashier/Sales Associate helps keep the store clean, inviting, safe, and operating smoothly while providing friendly customer service. The role includes operating the register, complying with age-verification and legal requirements for lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales, assisting with sales, stocking merchandise, and cleaning and maintaining both indoor and outdoor areas. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and help where needed. The position requires working on your feet for much of the shift and working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be willing to work hard and remain on their feet for most of the shift.
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Ability to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Friendly demeanor and ability to make customers feel welcome.
- Attention to detail.
- Punctuality, trustworthiness, and responsibility.
- Adaptability and willingness to take on varied tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
- Handle lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
- Provide friendly service and upsell customers when possible.
- Keep indoor and outdoor store areas clean and safe.
- Deep clean restrooms and sanitize gas pumps, including nozzles, screens, and water buckets.
- Pick up litter and trash from floors and the lot, and take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
- Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain entryways.
- Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Work as a team member and help wherever needed.
