About The Position

The Cashier/Sales Associate greets customers, operates the register, supports sales, and helps keep the store clean, safe, stocked, and welcoming. The role includes selling lottery tickets, cigarettes, and alcohol in compliance with age-verification and legal requirements; providing friendly service and upselling when appropriate; and maintaining both indoor and outdoor areas, including restrooms, gas pumps, the parking lot, and store entryways. Associates may cross-train in other departments, including deli, and are expected to follow safety procedures and help wherever needed. Full-time and part-time schedules are available. The position requires working weekends and holidays, spending most of the shift on one's feet, and working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Applicants must be at least 21, communicate effectively in English, have basic math skills, and meet the stated lifting requirements. Retail or customer-service experience is appreciated but not required. Employment offers are contingent on a background check; candidates may also be required to undergo drug screening.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be willing to work on one's feet for most of the shift and indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and operate the register accurately and quickly.
Sell lottery, cigarettes, and alcohol while complying with age-verification and legal requirements.
Provide friendly customer service and upsell when possible.
Clean and maintain high-use restrooms, gas pumps, store floors, parking lot, and other indoor and outdoor areas.
Take trash to the dumpster in all kinds of weather.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Sweep, mop, clean windows, and maintain store entryways.
Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Help teammates and step in where needed.
