About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring the financial viability of the organization by collecting payments, balancing cash receipts, ensuring accuracy of insurance billing information, opening and closing encounters, and running reports. The position also involves maintaining patient records and scheduling, coordinating patient information and billing, providing telephone and clerical support, and ensuring the accuracy and availability of patient information. The individual will update their professional and technical skills through continuing education and contribute to the team effort through collaboration and respect. Attendance, punctuality, and workplace safety are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Ability to commute/relocate to Los Alamos, NM: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Collecting payments
  • Balancing cash receipts at the end of each business period
  • Ensuring the accuracy of insurance billing information
  • Opening and closing encounters
  • Running reports as requested
  • Informing patient of outstanding balances at time of appointment reminder calls
  • Making appointments including reason for visit
  • Entering new patient information and accurately correcting/updating information for established patients
  • Scheduling new and established patients
  • Completing reminder calls day prior to appointment to decrease patient no-show rates
  • Accurately entering correct patient data into patients EMR
  • Checking patients in and out
  • Collecting payments
  • Ensuring the accuracy of insurance billing information
  • Printing schedules
  • Running reports
  • Answering telephones and communicating correct information/messages to the appropriate individuals
  • Maintaining a positive, friendly, professional phone presence
  • Keeping accurate record of cash and other daily transactions to ensure accurate daily bank deposits
  • Ensuring that all Patient Registrations, Consent, and Financial forms are complete, have the appropriate financial documentation, signed and available as needed
  • Pursuing continuing education or seminars related to job responsibilities
  • Completing all Med Trainer courses as assigned in a timely manner
  • Working collaboratively, cooperatively, and in coordination with fellow team members and with others in the organization
  • Treating team members with respect, courtesy, and consideration
  • Showing understanding and the appropriate support of other team members
  • Maintaining regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Maintaining physical presence at the assigned worksite
