About The Position

The Cashier is responsible for checking out customers’ merchandise through POS registers and performing customer service activities. This includes greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, and handling merchandise with care. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience by assisting customers, maintaining product knowledge, staying aware of advertised sales, and keeping nearby shelves and pegs stocked and straightened when not operating the register. The Cashier helps customers make buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs, recommending products, and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up. Other duties may be assigned. Work is performed under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and recommend improvements to work procedures, policies, and practices.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change for customers.
• Ability to communicate with customers and associates in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
• Ability to stand and/or walk constantly during the shift and perform the stated physical requirements, including lifting and moving objects.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
