About The Position
Performs routine journey-level cashier work; Work involves collecting fees, charges, and payments for events, products, services, or non-events.
Requirements
- Graduation from a high school.
- One (1) year of experience in cash handling.
- Ability to make change accurately.
- Able to operate cash register.
- Ability to handle high volume of customers.
- Good customer service and math/calculator skills.
- Must have a current valid Texas motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Must be able to be insured by the County’s insurance carrier.
Responsibilities
- Collects payments by accepting cash, making change and/or charge card for services, fees, etc.
- Balances drawer for counting cash at beginning and end of work shift.
- Maintains checkout operations by following county policies and procedures.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and Regulations.
- Provides information by answering questions and requests.
- Resolves conflicts with credit card companies regarding non-transmission of data.
- May handle problems with patrons.
- May supervise other cashiers in training.
- Performs related work as assigned.
