About The Position

The Cashier / Customer Service Associate welcomes customers and provides a positive shopping experience by delivering courteous service, processing transactions accurately, and helping maintain an organized retail environment. The role includes cashiering, responding to customer questions in person and by phone, and assisting with merchandise, displays, and inventory. Work takes place in indoor retail and outdoor environments and may involve exposure to changing weather and temperatures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 6 months of customer service, cashiering, retail, or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong customer service skills in face-to-face and phone interactions.
• Experience operating cash registers and handling transactions accurately.
• Solid mathematical and cash-handling skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and assist customers professionally.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers with a professional and positive attitude.
• Process customer purchases accurately using a cash register and point-of-sale system.
• Accept payments and issue receipts, refunds, credits, and change as needed.
• Package customer purchases and thank customers for their business.
• Answer customer questions and provide product, pricing, and store information.
• Direct customers to product pick-up locations when necessary.
• Open and close cash tills, document transactions, and balance receipts.
• Verify credit card and check payments.
• Provide prompt and courteous telephone support.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.
• Assist with stocking merchandise, pricing products, and maintaining attractive displays.
• Support inventory management activities, including annual physical inventory counts.
• Follow company safety procedures and participate in required safety meetings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
