About The Position

Desperados is seeking a team member to support restaurant service in the Distillery District of Lexington, Kentucky. The role combines cashiering, food running, bussing, and guest service in a fast-paced restaurant serving street tacos made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The team member helps provide a lively and inviting dining experience while supporting efficient operations and maintaining service and food-safety standards.

Requirements

Previous customer service or cashier experience is preferred but not required.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Enthusiasm for food and hospitality and a passion for creating memorable dining experiences.
Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality guest service.
Basic math skills and proficiency with cash handling.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and assist them with their orders.
Accurately enter orders and process payments using the POS system.
Provide friendly, attentive service and answer questions about the menu.
Keep the cashier station and nearby areas clean and organized.
Collaborate with team members to support efficient operations during busy periods.
Follow company policies and procedures for cash handling and customer service.
Deliver food promptly and accurately, ensuring dishes meet presentation and quality standards.
Coordinate with kitchen staff on order priorities and timing.
Bus and reset tables and help maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant.
Communicate with team members during peak hours and special events.
Address guest questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
Follow food-safety and sanitation standards, health codes, and regulations.
