About The Position

Full-time/Non-Exempt position starting at $17.24/hour with an increase to $17.77 at six months. Operating Hours: Monday-Saturday 9am-7:30pm, Sunday 9am-5:30pm. St. Vincent de Paul is an organization dedicated to serving the community and is looking for a candidate passionate about its core values to work in a fun, rewarding, and compassionate environment. This role is a key member of the Odana Rd. St. Vincent de Paul thrift store team, tasked with delivering excellent service to customers, donors, and clients. Fundamental duties include cashiering, restocking merchandise, and processing donations. This is an essential position that allows SVdP to contribute to its many services.

Responsibilities

  • Operate cash register and process transactions accurately
  • Assist customers with purchases and vouchers
  • Educate customers on VIP and monthly Round-Up program
  • Provide customer and donor assistance throughout the store by answering questions, anticipating customer needs, offering help and encouraging sales
  • Restock merchandise on sales floor and price items as needed
  • Pull and sort product in accordance with company guidelines and safety protocols
  • Assist on donation dock by receiving and processing donations based on SVdP Take/Do Not Take guidelines and loading items onto a semi-trailer or into the stock room as appropriate
  • Help maintain cleanliness of the store by performing cleaning duties on a rotating assignment list
  • Support the effort to create a more inclusive and equitable organization
  • Adhere to Safeguarding Policy by ensuring timely completion of mandatory training and staying updated on relevant training modules
