About The Position

This is a part-time, non-exempt role (up to 29 hours per week) at the Waunakee St. Vincent de Paul thrift store. The position starts at $17.24/hour, increasing to $17.77 after six months. The store operates Monday-Saturday from 9 am to 7:30 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 5:30 pm. St. Vincent de Paul is dedicated to serving the community and offers a fun, rewarding, and compassionate work environment. This role is essential for supporting the many services SVdP provides.

  • Demonstrated success working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to perform any duties assigned by management to help the overall performance of the Waunakee SVdP store.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize daily and immediate tasks.
  • Flexibility with job changes: willing and able to do other tasks when requested.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and effectively interact with people across cultures, ranges of ability, ethnicities and races.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, talk and hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance, and occasionally lift/move up to 50lbs with assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and work autonomously.

Responsibilities

  • Operate cash register and process transactions accurately.
  • Assist customers with purchases and vouchers.
  • Educate customers on VIP and monthly Round-Up programs.
  • Provide customer and donor assistance by answering questions, anticipating needs, offering help, and encouraging sales.
  • Restock merchandise on the sales floor and price items as needed.
  • Pull and sort product in accordance with company guidelines and safety protocols.
  • Receive and process donations based on SVdP Take/Do Not Take guidelines.
  • Load items onto a semi-trailer or into the stock room.
  • Maintain store cleanliness by performing cleaning duties on a rotating assignment list.
  • Support the effort to create a more inclusive and equitable organization.
  • Adhere to Safeguarding Policy by ensuring timely completion of mandatory training and staying updated on relevant training modules.
