About The Position

Dauphin County Children & Youth Services is currently accepting applications for a full-time position of Casework Supervisor. The person in this position supervises the provision of casework and case management by a group of professional caseworkers providing services in a public child welfare agency. The person oversees and coordinates the daily activities and scheduling of the team to ensure adequate case and emergency coverage and optimal use of available resources. This position reviews case record documentation on a regular and ongoing basis per regulation to assure the quality of casework intervention and documentation, timely intervention, adequate provision of resources, assurance of safety, permanency, and the involvement of the family in planning, as well as compliance with policies and regulatory requirements. This position drives agency and personal vehicles from time to time. May provide transportation for clients.

Requirements

  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work.
  • A bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • A valid driver’s license and positive driving record at the time of hire.
  • A favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, as well as favorable references are required at the time of hire.
  • The applicant must provide proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license within 60 days from the date of hire.
  • An alternative form of identification will be accepted if you are not eligible to receive a Pennsylvania driver’s license under 67 PA. Code § 83 and driving is not an essential function of the position.
