About The Position

The Case Manager position is with the LIFT (Leading Initiatives for Families and Transformation) program, which is dedicated to helping individuals facing various barriers overcome challenges and achieve sustainable, meaningful employment. LIFT works closely with referrals from the Department of Social Services (DSS) enrolled in both the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and SNAP Employment and Training programs, providing them with personalized support and resources to succeed. The role involves working directly with clients to help them identify strengths, develop job skills, and navigate the job market, with the goal of witnessing client transformation as they secure employment and gain independence. This is a collaborative role within a supportive team of dedicated professionals contributing to a meaningful mission of helping individuals and families achieve economic stability.

Requirements

  • Effectively use a personal computer.
  • Specific knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, TEAMS.
  • Ability to work with various software programs.
  • Knowledge of case management, interviewing and counseling techniques.
  • Knowledge of program eligibility requirements.
  • Knowledge of principles of human behavior and motivation.
  • Knowledge of labor market and economic conditions in the state of South Dakota.
  • Knowledge of marketing techniques to employers and human resource professionals to build effective working relationships.
  • Knowledge of how to locate and connect with various supportive services offered in South Dakota.
  • Effectively work with program participants who may have barriers to employment.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with employers, program partners, and co-workers to work towards participant success.
  • Ability to communicate information clearly.
  • Ability to effectively speak to individuals and or small groups of participants or employers about program services.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in case management, specifically mental health counseling, social work/social services, and/or in human services highly preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree is highly preferred in the fields of Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or similar.
  • In lieu of a 4-year degree, 4 years of experience working in case management, counseling, human resources, or social services may be considered.
  • If you possess a National Career Readiness Certificate, please submit the certificate with your application.
