Requirements

  • Must have a valid Driver's License and clean DMV record
  • Knowledge of basic computer operations software such as Microsoft Office, Smartsheets, etc.
  • Minimum 5 years previous supervisory experience
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Minimum S Years in the ski resort operations industry
  • Ability to speak, read, write and communicate fluently in English
  • Ability to ski/ride at advanced level and in variable conditions
  • Previous leadership experience with responsibility for employee safety, guest experience, and financial accountability

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent military experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of daily lift operation, ticket/pass verification for year-round operations
  • Effective communication with all internal and external partners, including supervisory staff, employees, management, and regulatory agencies.
  • Build, modify, and implement budgets for Lift Experience departments.
  • Lead select summer construction projects, including meeting budget targets and project deadlines.
  • Works closely with lift maintenance, product sales and services, and other mountain and resort departments. Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with these and other resort departments is critical.
  • Ensure appropriate department staff are trained to and understand federal, state, and local regulations as they pertain to lift operations and scanning. Department leadership should develop and maintain professional relationships with all regulatory agencies (USFS, OSHA, ANSI etc) and manage applicable permitting processes.
  • Safety conscious and responsible to company safety guidelines and procedures —able to set an example and hold others to those standards.
  • Participate in Vail Resorts best practice groups and implement initiatives from these groups.
  • Implement department training programs and ensure proper documentation for all staff. Ensure all supervisory staff understand and properly incorporate appropriate performance management standards within the department.
  • Set, train and ensure high service standards within the department and resort. Motivate and encourage employees to deliver excellence in guest experience. Identify and develop talent, building future leaders for the department, resort and company.
