About The Position

The Eliza Shirley House Resolution Center (ESHRC) is a safe and welcoming emergency housing program offering loving, respectful, compassionate, and non-judgmental services to empower residents to strive towards self-sufficiency. The goal of the ESHRC is to support individuals experiencing homelessness address immediate barriers to self sufficiency, identify and access longer term housing support, and resolve their immediate housing crisis. All populations experiencing homelessness, including single men and women, couples, and families with children are accepted. The Case Manager is responsible for client assessment, housing plan development, regular contact with the client to assess progress and needs, provision of guidance and counseling to residents as needed, making referrals to social services not provided at the shelter program, preparation of applications for housing, documentation of resident progress and of services, ensuring completion of required forms, staff consultation, and completion of all client track data input for clients. The above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the candidate will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, or enrolled in MSW program.
  • Must be computer literate and skilled in Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to navigate the Internet.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
  • Completion of a Pennsylvania approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training is necessary prior to employment.
  • Must understand and support for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
