About The Position

The case manager serves as a staff member at will of Domestic Violence Intervention Services (DVIS). The case manager/outreach advocate assists clients in obtaining needed services, education, and financial assistance in the community. Outreach to inform the community about services in Creek County will include libraries, health care providers, other non-profits, Dept. of Human Services, etc.

Requirements

Bachelor’s in Social Work, Gerontology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related degree preferred, or equivalent work experience with victims of crime and the following job-related experience.
Requires a minimum of one years’ experience in working with individuals and groups in a social service or mental health environment; experience working with a nonprofit is preferred, or any equivalent combination of experience, lived experience, and/or special skills.
Proven computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, is necessary.
Requires dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, excellent organizational skills, written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize work and tasks.
Requires adaptability to produce and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-task, and changing environment, with frequent pressure related to meeting deadlines and scheduling requirements.

Valid Oklahoma driver’s license; current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Knowledge of or experience working with social justice issues, specifically intimate partner and gender-based domestic and sexual violence, and racial, class, gender, sexual orientation issues, and intervention/prevention services strongly preferred.
Experience applying an equitable analysis to all duties to achieve organizational goals and demonstrate DVIS’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, and anti-racism preferred.
Diplomacy in confronting personal, individual, and internal discrimination requiring sharing and discussing personal identities relative to the work environment is strongly preferred.
current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide crisis intervention services for phone-in and walk-in clients.
Perform intakes and needs assessments and make referrals to other community resources.
Provide supportive services to survivors, including safety planning, introducing DVIS services, and connecting clients in eminent danger to the Shelter.
Create service plans for clients.
Act as an advocate for clients with external agencies. Includes accompanying clients to court and/or to appointments with law enforcement or prosecutors.
Safety planning with all survivors.
Responsible for case management services for immediate survivor needs that include referrals for education, education assistance, job training, and other public assistance.
Assist survivors in locating and securing housing.
Provide/arrange for education to include interpersonal violence, financial literacy that includes checkbook management, budgeting and money management, and other skills for daily living.
Advocate for survivors within the civil and criminal justice system as well as the health care system.
Provide referrals to DVIS programs including legal assistance, protective order assistance and advocacy, counseling services, childcare, group counseling and support groups, and children’s counseling.
Responsible for conducting follow-up.
Identify community resources to meet each individual’s needs by providing referrals to partner organizations.
Assist with coordinating a community response to interpersonal violence.
Conduct community outreach and build strong community relationships.
Distribute information and make presentations about DVIS services to a wide variety of entities in the community.
Maintain a comprehensive directory of local services to include housing, financial assistance, educational assistance, job training, job placement services and child care resources.
Responsible for keeping statistics and providing reports as requested.
Other assistance to support the overall goals of the department and organization.
Maintains up-to-date and accurate files for each client according to agency guidelines and current professional standards.
Attend meetings and training as requested by supervisor.
