About The Position

This position is responsible for identifying participants, scheduling and teaching the Moral Recognition Therapy Program, which includes life-skill activities designed to prepare detainees for re-entry into the community. The role also involves initiating inmate referrals to facilities, preparing and managing statistical data, and initiating and maintaining collaboration with community partners.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • A minimum of one (1) year of social work or case management experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license at the time of application and a valid Colorado driver’s license at time of hire is required.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in one of the recognized mental health professions is preferred.
  • Correctional mental health experience is preferred.
  • Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) Level I, II or III is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies participants, schedules and teaches Moral Recognition Therapy Program groups.
  • Interviews clients and identifies their treatment goals and objectives.
  • Provides clients with referrals and linkages to community resources and services.
  • Assists clients with applications for public assistance benefits.
  • Provides access advocacy to needed community resources.
  • Provides administrative support for assigned program to include preparing, compiling, collating and reporting JBBS program statistics into JBBS database and coordinating the processing of appropriate paperwork.
  • Track client progress post-release in accordance with JBBC program guidelines.
  • Completes and collates client paperwork, referrals and discharge packets for re-entry into the community.
  • Attends staff meetings, in-service and peer reviews and evaluations as directed.
  • Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for performance of the job.
