About The Position

This position is responsible for identifying participants, scheduling and teaching the Moral Recognition Therapy Program, which includes life-skill activities designed to prepare detainees for re-entry into the community. The role also involves initiating inmate referrals to facilities, preparing and managing statistical data, and initiating and maintaining collaboration with community partners.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age
High school diploma or GED
A minimum of one (1) year of social work or case management experience is required.
A valid driver’s license at the time of application and a valid Colorado driver’s license at time of hire is required.

Nice To Haves

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in one of the recognized mental health professions is preferred.
Correctional mental health experience is preferred.
Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) Level I, II or III is preferred.

Responsibilities

Identifies participants, schedules and teaches Moral Recognition Therapy Program groups.
Interviews clients and identifies their treatment goals and objectives.
Provides clients with referrals and linkages to community resources and services.
Assists clients with applications for public assistance benefits.
Provides access advocacy to needed community resources.
Provides administrative support for assigned program to include preparing, compiling, collating and reporting JBBS program statistics into JBBS database and coordinating the processing of appropriate paperwork.
Track client progress post-release in accordance with JBBC program guidelines.
Completes and collates client paperwork, referrals and discharge packets for re-entry into the community.
Attends staff meetings, in-service and peer reviews and evaluations as directed.
Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for performance of the job.
