About The Position

Arlington County's Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a Behavioral Health Therapist (Licensed) to serve as the Medication Assisted Treatment Coordinator at the Arlington County Detention Facility (ACDF). This role involves providing and coordinating linkage to Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services within the ACDF and the community, as well as making appropriate referrals for Substance Use treatment. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of MAT services and community resources. Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a clinical discipline such as Counseling, Psychiatric Social Work, Psychology, or other directly related clinical discipline with internships and practicum requirements involving diagnostic, treatment application of diagnostic, and treatment services.
  • Possession of one of the following professional licenses from the Virginia Department of Health Professions: LPC, LCP, LMFT, or LCSW.

Nice To Haves

  • Active Clinical License in the State of Virginia (LPC, LCP, LCSW).
  • Bilingual capabilities in English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Providing case management services to individuals housed at the Arlington County Detention Facility (ACDF).
  • Conducting intake evaluations, interviews, and assessments to determine treatment needs and service recommendations.
  • Utilizing American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria to assess needs and determine appropriate levels of care.
  • Completing referrals to treatment and coordinating access to behavioral health and substance use services.
  • Coordinating with medical providers at the ACDF regarding individuals enrolled in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs.
  • Maintaining an individual caseload of MAT participants and monitoring progress toward treatment goals.
  • Assisting individuals with discharge planning and coordination of community-based services and supports.
  • Consulting and collaborating with supervisors, criminal justice partners, and other professionals regarding client needs, treatment recommendations, and service coordination.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required records, and meeting established service capture expectations.
  • Tracking and reporting program data and performance measures related to MAT service delivery.
  • Participating in meetings with the Sheriff’s Office, Department of Human Services, and other stakeholders to support program operations and client outcomes.
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support treatment services and program objectives.
