About The Position

Under the direction of the School Programs Director, the Case Manager serves at-risk students in collaboration with school districts, parents, and community agencies by providing accessible, consistent support to students as well as academic advising, career guidance information, employment assistance or referrals and referrals to social and health services. This is a 30 hours per week, 190 days per year assignment. Regular attendance is required to ensure consistency for students and to support a positive, productive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in education, Counseling, or related field.
  • Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience providing case management, counseling, or other direct services to at-risk individuals or 16-21 year-old youth.

Responsibilities

  • Help students determine if re-engagement programming is the best option for them and, if so, complete the steps necessary for enrollment
  • Provide academic advising, career guidance and employment assistance or referrals.
  • Provide and/or refer students to support services that are based on the individual student's needs.
  • Student-centered management focused largely on positive relationship building, leading to a stronger, more sustainable support network
  • Meet with students regularly while they are participating in re-engagement activities and as they transition to subsequent employment or post-secondary work.
  • Develop transition plans based on individual student needs with a focus on school, work, and community re-engagement.
  • Maintain regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Other duties as assigned.
