About The Position

An Advantage Case Manager Supervisor (CMS) assists the Director of Case Management Department and also performs the same duties as an Advantage Case Manager (CM). A CMS is responsible for the day-to-day operations of CMs to ensure that CMs are dutifully monitoring their members, implementing services required for the members’ well-being, and ensuring that their assigned members are receiving the supplies that they need. The roles assumed by the case manager supervisor and within the long-term care services delivery system are services coordinator, member advocate, member consultant and gatekeeper.

Requirements

  • Must be able to meet the minimum qualifications of a case manager.
  • Must be reviewed by and approved by MSU.
  • Have at least one year’s experience working as a case manager.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order.
  • Speak fluent English, demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires general time management skills with an emphasis on communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Requires computer skills using an office based word processing system, ability to differentiate various software systems and adapt to various technical requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Management and supervision of case managers.
  • Management and supervision of allotted member units and providing Case Managers with continuing education on how to review units in Authenticare and manage their units.
  • Participation and attendance of MSU trainings and educations and using the information acquired to provide ongoing training to case managers.
  • Review of and provide feedback of case managers documents submitted to various systems.
  • Daily supervisor submissions to MSU via Harmony.
  • Assignment of members to CMs and updates to member lists on a continuous basis, including removal from lists, address changes etc.
  • Monitors reports of complaints, escalated issues and critical incident reports and assures all CIR have been sent to CQI.
  • Reviews with CQI all CM Audits and assists with follow up of implemented Audit corrections as set forth by CQI in POC for case managers.
  • Fills in as interim CM as needed and during transition and onboarding of new CMs. Assigns new CM’s with senior CM’s for training purposes. Participates in training of new case managers.
  • Required to carry minimal member case load as discussed with Director of Case Management and able to have increased member case load as needed for short intervals during growth of hiring more CM’s.
  • Assists Director of Case Management with interviews of potential CM hiree’s as requested by Director of Case Management.
  • Performs annual performance reviews of case managers and reports these to Director of Case Management. Director of Case Management will perform any compensation rate changes.
  • As needed and if applicable, performs competency checks for all new hires.
  • Ensures confidentiality according to all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Participates in all other job duties as requested and/or assigned by the Director of Case Management Department.
