About The Position

The Case Management Assistant is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Next Door Office. This role requires the individual to believe in the philosophy of the Agency and be able to develop a rapport with program participants. The program operates Monday through Friday 9am-6pm, and Saturdays 9am-noon, with the exception of holidays. On-call services are available as needed. This position starts at 8:30 am and ends at 4:30 pm when the program is in operation.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Social Sciences and two (2) years Human Services experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Products
  • 21 (twenty-one) years old
  • valid driver’s license
  • PA State Police Background check
  • Child Line Clearances
  • FBI Fingerprint Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Assist program staff with triaging the needs of individuals and families coming in and/or calling in for services by referring to the Counselor of the Day or assigning to a scheduled workshop.
  • Offer basic case management services to assist with directing to community resources.
  • Maintain forms used for program operations.
  • Maintain and order program office supplies.
  • Date-stamp and distribute incoming mail. Post all outgoing mail and deliver to mail box.
  • Serve as point person when issues develop with office products used daily by program staff (printers, copiers, telephone and computers).
  • Answer phones during regularly scheduled business hours. Direct messages to appropriate staff.
  • Develop an understanding of community resources available to assist individuals and families in need and direct when appropriate to those services.
  • Learn how to use the HMIS system and document as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings and assigned trainings as required.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the first floor office, including waiting room, office space, and bathroom.
  • Attend 12 (twelve) hours of job-related training each fiscal year.
  • Follow and support agency philosophy, policy, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator of Next Door.
