Amentum is seeking a Case Initiation Team Support Specialist to support the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and Office of Security (SIS) in Springfield, VA. This role involves providing comprehensive support and maintenance to established Personnel Security (PERSEC) programs, ensuring the smooth execution of daily NGA PERSEC & Case Initiation Team operations. The specialist will be responsible for preparing, supporting, and administering PERSEC program briefings, as well as writing and presenting reports and correspondence. A key aspect of the role includes briefing SISPI leadership and other NGA personnel on program requirements and regulations. The position requires meticulous maintenance and updating of security databases and files, such as PeopleSoft security system of records, SISPI SharePoint Page, and internal SISP file folders, ensuring data is entered accurately and in real-time. Responsibilities also include promptly responding to all inquiries via telephone and email, checking internal and external personnel security databases, and assisting in maintaining customer distribution lists for PERSEC contacts. The specialist will bring case security issues to the attention of government Team Leads and assist the government PERSEC team in developing recommendations for program improvements. Providing excellent service, guidance, and timely resolution to internal and external customers' questions and inquiries is paramount. The role utilizes various security concepts, principles, and practices to analyze and recommend solutions for complex security issues. A critical duty is documenting and providing Weekly Activity Reports (WAR) in the designated SISP template and timeline to the Government Team Lead. The specialist will also collect, investigate, research, document, and forward all reportable information from employees and contractors to adjudications within mandated timelines (e.g., IRTPA, DNI). This includes preparing accurate investigation reports and processing applicants and employee periodic re-investigation initiations within strict calendar day mandates (14 days for applicants, 15 days for re-investigations) to meet IRTPA/DNI requirements. Identifying outstanding actions that may impact IRTPA mandate timelines on a weekly basis and processing CIA Detailed cases within seven business days and Phased Eligibility cases within seven calendar days of polygraph completion are also key responsibilities. Prioritizing high-priority initiatives/cases as coordinated/assigned by the Government Team Lead is essential.
