About The Position

Eden is a digital-first, people-centred firm aiming to transform the conveyancing industry. They are looking for a forward-thinking Case Cover Property Lawyer / Case Cover Conveyancer to join their growing team. This role offers variety, flexibility, and autonomy, with 100% remote working. Candidates seeking part-time hours (minimum 25 hours per week) are welcome. The role involves taking temporary ownership of residential caseloads when the primary property lawyer is absent, ensuring files are progressed efficiently, deadlines are met, and clients, partners, and other conveyancers are kept updated. It also requires ensuring compliance with regulations, resolving complex legal issues, and contributing to a culture of shared responsibility. When not covering absences, the role involves supporting wider business needs such as assisting teams with capacity pressure, progressing ageing cases, supporting completions and exchanges, and contributing to quality assurance and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in residential conveyancing with minimal day-to-day supervision OR 2+ years post-qualified experience.
  • Recent CPD including AML training.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong affinity for digital tools and modern ways of working.
  • Experience and competency in sale, purchase, remortgage and transfers of equity work.
  • Experience of freehold, leasehold and new build property transactions.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise a work load at short notice.
  • A flexible, adaptable approach.
  • Ambition to develop conveyancing experience and skills.
  • Ability to work within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Take temporary ownership of mixed residential caseloads from instruction to file closure when the primary property lawyer is absent.
  • Progress files efficiently, ensuring deadlines, exchanges and completions stay on track.
  • Accurately update tasks and activities within the case management system.
  • Build strong working relationships with the property lawyers being supported.
  • Provide clear notes, updates, and recommendations for smooth handovers on return.
  • Provide proactive communication to keep customers, partners and other conveyancers updated on case progress.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory, legal and internal policies across all conveyancing transactions.
  • Resolve complex legal issues related to the sale or purchase of a property.
  • Deliver KPIs that support exceptional client experiences.
  • Promote a culture of shared responsibility and accountability.
  • Assist teams experiencing capacity pressure.
  • Progress ageing cases or backlog work.
  • Support completions, exchanges, or critical deadlines.
  • Contribute to quality assurance, file reviews, or process improvements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by providing constructive feedback on cover processes, handovers, and workflows.
