About The Position

This role involves managing the end-to-end carrier certification lifecycle for wireless devices, from planning through commercial approval. The Carrier Certification Manager will drive certification schedules, milestones, risks, dependencies, and launch readiness. This includes coordinating certification activities with major operators like Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and international carriers. The position also requires acting as the primary interface between OEM partners, chipset vendors, certification labs, and carrier organizations, coordinating deliverables, test requirements, software releases, device builds, and documentation. The manager will facilitate communication between internal engineering teams, OEMs, labs, and carriers, track readiness, and provide regular status updates to management. Additionally, the role involves coordinating pre-certification and official certification testing, managing submission processes (PTCRB, GCF, carrier-specific), monitoring progress, and ensuring products meet all certification requirements. This includes coordinating waiver requests, documentation, compliance reviews, and maintaining records. The manager will also establish and improve certification processes, metrics, and reporting mechanisms, serving as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders and providing executive-level reporting.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of PTCRB, GCF, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and carrier certification processes.
  • Experience coordinating with OEMs, chipset vendors, carriers, and certification laboratories.
  • Excellent project management, stakeholder management, communication, and reporting skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in carrier certification, wireless product launches, certification program management, or telecom project management.

  • Drive cross-functional discussions with OEMs to ensure timely closure of certification dependencies and launch blockers.

  • Track certification readiness across all stakeholders and provide regular status updates to management.
  • Coordinate pre-certification and official certification testing activities across internal and external labs.
  • Ensure devices, software builds, SIMs, test plans, and supporting documentation are available according to certification schedules.
  • Manage PTCRB, GCF, and carrier-specific submission processes.
  • Monitor certification progress and drive timely completion of certification milestones.
  • Ensure products meet carrier and industry certification requirements.
  • Coordinate waiver requests, certification documentation, compliance reviews, and approval workflows.
  • Maintain certification records, approval status, and launch readiness tracking.
  • Establish and improve certification processes, metrics, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for carriers, OEM partners, certification labs, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on certification readiness, risks, and launch status.
