About The Position

Archadeck of Central Virginia, a premier leader in custom outdoor living design and construction, is seeking skilled, professional carpenters for long-term collaboration. We specialize in high-end projects—including custom decks, pergolas, screened porches, and sunrooms—and we provide our builders with steady, year-round work. We handle the design, sales, and permitting so you can focus on building. We offer competitive compensation paid out quickly upon project milestones. Avoid the "feast or famine" cycle with a steady pipeline of pre-sold projects. Applicants should reside in the U.S. state of Virginia and be able to commute to our project sites and office periodically for team meetings and training sessions as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of carpentry experience, with a specific focus on decks, pergolas, and roof framing.
  • A commitment to craftsmanship, a strong work ethic, and a professional appearance.
  • Must possess a reliable vehicle (capable of hauling materials) and a complete set of professional-grade power and hand tools.
  • Must carry active General Liability and Workers’ Compensation insurance.
  • Comfortable with ladder work, heavy lifting, and outdoor conditions.
  • Proven track record of punctuality and meeting project deadlines.
  • Minimum 2 person team

Responsibilities

  • Build custom decks, pergolas, 3-season rooms, and screened porches to exact specifications.
  • Execute complex framing, roof structures, wood stairways, and window/door installations.
  • Expertly work with pressure-treated lumber and premium composite materials.
  • Read and interpret detailed architectural drawings and building plans accurately.
  • Manage material take-offs, maintain a clean job site, and ensure all work meets OSHA safety standards.
