About The Position

The Carpenter works from plans to build, assemble, fit together, align, plumb, and set forms in place for molding concrete structures. The role also supports construction and installation of concrete structures and components, including precast elements, traffic rails, median barriers, and permanent metal deck forms. The position involves outdoor work on construction jobsites, using hand and power tools and performing strenuous physical activities.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing.
• Ability to move throughout a construction jobsite, including navigating minor obstacles and climbing ladders and inclines.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical activity during productive or technical work.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items, work with fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions, including rain, sun, snow, and wind.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Construct forms for placement of concrete and structures.
• Check forms while concrete is being placed.
• Assist and direct others in stripping forms after concrete is placed.
• Install miscellaneous materials in erecting concrete structures.
• Install precast concrete elements.
• Prepare for slip-forming traffic rails and median barriers.
• Install permanent metal deck forms.
• Work with hand tools and power tools.
• Perform other duties as required.
