About The Position

The carpenter shall be the company’s field representative responsible for maintenance and repair of various residential and commercial facilities. The carpenter shall report to the Project Manager, and shall be responsible for providing field carpentry skills for the project to which he/she is assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of carpentry experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze and understand direction.
  • Experience organizing assigned duties.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and be a safety conscious individual.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Detail and deadline oriented with good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Problem solving skills, organizations skills, and communication skills.
  • Extensive interaction with team members, subcontractors and operations personnel.
  • Ability to both give and receive direction.
  • Must work well with others and always exhibit a professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Position requires daily travel to and from project sites.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Daily communications of progress on all activities, issues, and progress to the Project Manager.
  • Assist with Documenting daily construction activities.
  • Constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
  • Work closely with our project managers and other team members to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the highest quality standards.
  • Maintaining and enforcing jobsite safety and security measures.
  • Helps close the building after every workday i.e. windows, doors and project gates.
  • Assist with temporary safety rails, plastic over windows, plywood doors and signs.
  • Problem solver and handles conflict resolution related to field activities.
  • Initiate corrective action as warranted to achieve the project expectations and goals.
  • Actively share knowledge and lessons learned from project experience.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of structures and frameworks.
  • Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
  • Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim, using carpenter's hand and power tools.
  • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
  • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
