About The Position

Universal Windows Direct is seeking a Carpenter (Installer) as a 1099 subcontractor to install windows, doors, siding, and gutters. The Installer is responsible for accurately and professionally installing products at job sites according to company procedures and to the customer’s satisfaction, while maintaining Universal Windows Direct’s positive image, brand, and reputation. Most of the company’s business is windows, so replacement-window experience is required.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of carpentry, trim carpentry, construction, or in-home renovation experience.
• Ability to take accurate measurements using a tape measure, level, and combination square.
• Own equipment and ability to use power tools such as a drill and jigsaw.
• General liability insurance and workers’ compensation insurance, or ability to obtain them.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Reliable transportation for safely transporting products to work locations.
• Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Nice To Haves

• Window installation experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide remodeling expertise in windows, doors, siding, and gutters, including replacement-window work.
• Maintain a pleasant and professional attitude when interacting with customers.
• Respect customers’ property and leave the work area clean.
• Explain the functionality, care, and upkeep of new installations to customers.
• Accurately complete and submit required paperwork, photos, and other documentation.
