About The Position

Burnbrae Farms is seeking a Carpenter for a permanent, full-time, year-round position. The role involves new builds and renovations, both residential and commercial, and requires the ability to organize and prioritize work, read and interpret building plans, and complete tasks professionally and in a timely fashion. The Carpenter will also supervise a helper, organize equipment and materials, and operate equipment such as skid steer, telehandler, and payloader. The position is located at 3356 County Rd. #27 Lyn, ON K0E 1M0 and reports to the Construction Supervisor, Poultry. The shift is weekdays during the day, with an hourly rate of $27-$32/hr. Eligible for 40 hours of paid sick days.

Requirements

• 3 years of residential renovations or property maintenance experience
• Previous work experience (can include part time or summer employment during high school and college)
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Proficient in one or more of the following: Framing, insulating, drywalling, flooring (laminate, tile, hardwood)
• Time management
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Punctual and reliable

Nice To Haves

• College degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience (e.g. 5 years' work experience in a trade) preferred
• Supervisor/lead hand experience is an asset

Responsibilities

• Report daily to the Project Supervisor
• Engage in new builds and renovations, both residential and commercial
• Organize and prioritize work
• Read and interpret building plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Complete work in a professional and timely fashion
• Supervise a helper to aid in completion of tasks
• Organize equipment and building materials
• Operate equipment including skid steer, telehandler and payloader
