About The Position

Constructs and repairs structural woodwork and equipment in yards and on industrial and commercial property. The role involves working with wood, plastic, fiberglass, and drywall, and using hand and power tools to repair and erect structures. It also includes estimating dimensions, quantities, time, costs, resources, and materials for work activities, and inspecting subordinate work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, identifying deficiencies, and taking corrective action.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent and previous experience in the field or a related area.
• Strong working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Proficiency in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand, power, layout, and measurement tools.
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing and a fit-for-duty medical examination.
• May require a U.S. driver's license.
• Must have required tools.

Responsibilities

• Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, and drywall.
• Use chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, resources, and materials needed for work activities.
• Inspect subordinate work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, identify deficiencies, explain them, and take corrective action.
• Observe and comply with safety and project rules, and perform other duties as required.
