About The Position

Responsible for performing basic phases of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical installation and repair in accordance with applicable building codes and standards, as well as Jackson County policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least five years of experience in basic carpentry.
• Valid Mississippi Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Repair cabinets, desks, tables, and other office furniture.
• Repair doors, locks, signs, screens, and similar items; repair window components and replace window glass; make and repair screens.
• Operate woodworking machinery and build custom casework, signs, picture frames, and bulletin boards.
• Make counter, cabinet, and table tops from Formica; replace floor and ceiling tiles; frame and finish walls; and construct shelves.
• Make concrete repairs and construct new sidewalks, stoops, and ramps.
