About The Position

Audubon is seeking a Carpenter/Concrete Finisher I to join its team in the Offsite Office. The role performs skilled carpentry work related to construction, maintenance, and repair, along with other work needed to maintain facilities in a safe and efficient condition.

The position performs physical construction labor, including layout, interior and cold-form metal framing, gypsum board and rebar installation, door, frame, and hardware installation, acoustical ceiling installation, and millwork installation. It also requires knowledge of construction materials, methods, tools, survey principles, foundation-form and building-frame layout, and safe power-tool use, as well as the ability to determine the tools and equipment required for a job.

Employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies’ Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures by working safely, participating in required training and reporting activities, identifying and reporting hazards and unsafe conditions, and following safe work practices and applicable regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Five years of experience in the construction industry.
• Five years of experience as a craft carpenter.
• Proven experience as a civil construction carpenter.
• Knowledge of civil construction and quality assurance practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of construction safety practices.
• In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and HSE guidelines.
• Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate and report effectively.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently when required.
• Ability to motivate, lead, teach, and train others on proper work and safety procedures.
• Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
• Ability to obtain site and safety training certifications required for the project.
• Must pass pre-employment screening, including background and drug testing.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Company requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical labor on construction projects, including layout, interior framing, cold-form metal framing, gypsum board installation, rebar installation, door, frame, and hardware installation, acoustical ceiling installation, and millwork installation.
• Perform other assigned duties related to construction, maintenance, repair, and maintaining facilities in a safe and efficient condition.
• Use knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools for building or repairing structures.
• Apply knowledge of survey principles and the layout of foundation forms and building framing.
• Use power tools safely, including saws, drills, planes, sanders, routers, and grinders.
• Determine the tools and equipment needed for a job.
• Support company HSE policies and procedures by performing duties safely, participating in required training and reporting, identifying and reporting hazards and unsafe conditions, and complying with safe work practices and applicable regulations.
