About The Position

This role involves assisting skilled carpenters in various construction and repair tasks. The Carpenter Helper will be responsible for reading blueprints, performing demolition, framing, installing fixtures, operating tools, and preparing surfaces. The position requires attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to safety. Employees may be required to work extended hours and weekends, with compensation in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Requirements

2 to 3 years experience in skilled carpentry
Favorable driver’s record/valid license
Must successfully complete background check and drug/alcohol screening
Skilled in Reading, Writing and Math

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
Perform a variety of tasks involving use of hands tools, such as, but not limited to, minor demolishing activities, wood, and metal stud framing
Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard
Operate a variety of hand and power tools and company equipment
Receive materials and offload in a safe and proficient manner
Prepare surfaces for paint and other applications
Other duties, as assigned
