About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting carpenters in various construction tasks, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining a clean work environment. The role requires the ability to identify necessary tools, recognize safety risks, and assist in the measurement, cutting, and construction of wooden and metallic materials, as well as concrete forms. The Helper Carpenter will also contribute to miscellaneous construction projects and ensure the overall tidiness of work areas.

Requirements

• Must have 2+ years of experience working in Industrial Construction as a Carpenter Helper.
• Must have knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.
• Must be able to computer basic arithmetic functions.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to work full work schedule and any additional overtime as needed.
• Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Must follow all company and site rules and regulations.
• Must have required tools.

Nice To Haves

• Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.
• Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
• Formal/Technical education.
• Experience working with carpentry, concrete, and rebar.

Responsibilities

• Identify all tools required for tasks.
• Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
• Assist in the measurement, marking, and cutting of wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
• Assist in the construction, re-enforcement, and dismantling of pre-constructed concrete forms.
• Assist in building and constructing wooden forms.
• Assist on miscellaneous construction projects such as building decks and steps, building bulletin boards, and building any additional wooden structures.
• Cleanup/housekeeping of work areas.
