About The Position

A Site Services Helper performs a variety of duties to assist in maintaining facilities and equipment, often under the direction of a supervisor. The role involves assisting with repairs, cleaning, and upkeep of buildings and equipment, as well as providing support for more skilled tasks. The Carpenter Helper supports the lead carpenter with fundamental construction, installation, and repair tasks, helps keep the job site safe and orderly, and learns to use appropriate tools and perform layout tasks.

Requirements

Knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
Vigilance regarding safety protocols and work quality.
Effective communication with supervisors and tradespeople.
Ability to maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift weights up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

One year of industrial construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Support the lead carpenter with fundamental tasks for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures.
Collect materials, keep work areas clean, and use hand and power tools under supervision.
Assist with measuring, cutting, and shaping wood and other materials, and learn to perform layout tasks independently.
Clean work areas, machines, and equipment to maintain a safe and efficient job site.
Select and transport tools, equipment, and materials to the work area; assist with setting up and relocating work areas as needed.
Place and finish small amounts of concrete for housekeeping pads, stoops, sidewalks, and similar tasks.
Keep the work area stocked with required materials and tools.
Assist with demolition tasks as needed while maintaining safety.
Restock supplies and materials as required.
Develop skills using appropriate hand and power tools to assist carpenters with measuring, cutting, plumbing, and other tasks.
