Canoco Energy Services is seeking an experienced Carpenter Foreman to join our team in Edmonton, Calgary, and surrounding areas as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading carpentry crews, coordinating daily construction activities, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality. We are looking for a motivated leader who takes pride in their work, promotes a strong safety culture, and contributes positively to project success.

Requirements

  • Journeyperson Carpenter certification
  • Strong experience with concrete formwork, civil construction, framing, renovations, and general carpentry activities
  • Valid CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015 required
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a Foreman or Lead Hand role preferred
  • Fall Protection, Elevated Work Platform (AWP), and Confined Space certifications considered assets
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver's abstract preferred
  • Proven leadership, planning, and organizational skills
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor carpentry crews while promoting a safe and productive work environment
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily carpentry activities to ensure project schedules and quality standards are achieved
  • Construct, install, and dismantle concrete formwork for foundations, grade beams, slabs, walls, and other civil structures
  • Review drawings, specifications, and work instructions and communicate requirements to crew members
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to support project execution
  • Assist with site layout, concrete placement, and finishing preparation activities
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations
  • Conduct toolbox meetings, hazard assessments, inspections, and safety observations
  • Monitor productivity, workmanship, and quality control throughout project execution
  • Complete daily reports, timesheets, and other required documentation
  • Identify and resolve field issues while maintaining effective communication with project management and site personnel
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
