About The Position

This opportunity offers a hybrid work arrangement based out of our Fargo, North Dakota office. The role is expected to require approximately 15-20 hours per week. We empower our employees to find a work style that is best for them. The Intern position is a formal training/development position with specific responsibilities within a defined functional area. Each intern has an individual work plan outlining specific duties and projects for the duration of the internship as well as overall goals for the internship period. A designated mentor will provide supervision, guidance and support. We are looking for candidates that have a strong desire to learn along with professional drive, detailed oriented, ability to multitask, can work independently and in a team setting. Looking for candidates who have a passion for the community and bettering the health and well-being of others.

Requirements

  • Currently completing post-secondary studies in a specified field or a recent graduate with a degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or Journalism, or a related field.
  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized and attentive to detail.
  • Ability to take initiative in a team environment.
  • Collaborates with team members, mentors, and leaders within the organization.
  • Coachable with a highly motivated work ethic.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Equivalent combination of education, experience or training determined to be acceptable by Human Resources may be substituted, unless regulated by contract or program standards.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and for the entire duration of employment without the need for sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft office products is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support the community engagement and BCBSND Caring Foundation team members.
  • Learns organizational processes and procedures to support department staff with general tasks and projects.
  • Develops professional skills through on-the-job learning, technical training and department exposure.
  • Builds relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develops an understanding of what each department does within the organization through cross functional meetings and informational sessions.
  • Demonstrates professional workplace behaviors, is punctual and presents an appropriate appearance.
  • Performs work under direct supervision.
  • Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Create and assist with research.
  • Support execution of short and long-term project strategy initiatives.
  • Prepare presentation materials for employee meetings and forums.
  • Support administrative needs.
  • Complete other special projects as assigned.
