About The Position

Covenant Aviation Security (CAS) is seeking a Cargo Screening Supervisor to lead cargo screening operations supporting Lufthansa Cargo (LCAG) at Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD). This role serves as the on-site operational leader responsible for supervising screening personnel, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining quality assurance standards, and supporting customer requirements. The Cargo Screening Supervisor plays a critical role in safeguarding the air cargo supply chain through effective leadership, training, oversight, and continuous adherence to TSA, airport authority, customer, and company security requirements. Requirements

  • Must be a United States Citizen in accordance with TSA cargo screening requirements.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of cargo screening experience in an airport, air cargo, aviation security, or TSA-regulated environment.
  • Previous supervisory, leadership, training, or quality assurance experience required.
  • Must possess basic computer skills, including data entry, electronic recordkeeping, and report preparation.
  • Must be able to operate cargo screening technology after training.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and maintain all required TSA, LCAG, airport authority, and CAS training and certifications.
  • Must be able to pass a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC), Security Threat Assessment (STA), and all required background investigations.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment, random, and post-incident drug screenings.
  • Must be able to pass a color vision recognition test.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required airport badges, permits, and security credentials.
  • Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license or identification card.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be available to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, evenings, overnights, and extended shifts as operationally required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supervising personnel in a TSA-regulated cargo screening environment.
  • Experience conducting quality assurance audits and compliance reviews.
  • Experience training or mentoring security personnel.
  • Experience utilizing X-ray and Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) equipment.
  • Experience working with airline, cargo, airport, or aviation security operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cargo screening duties utilizing TSA-approved screening methods, including X-ray, Explosive Trace Detection (ETD), physical inspections, and other approved screening technologies.
  • Supervise, train, schedule, and provide day-to-day leadership to assigned cargo screening personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with TSA regulations, LCAG security programs, airport authority requirements, and CAS policies and procedures.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and operational audits of screening activities.
  • Maintain screening logs, compliance records, training records, maintenance records, and other required documentation.
  • Enter and maintain compliance data within customer and company computer systems.
  • Assist with initial, recurrent, and on-the-job training for screening personnel.
  • Ensure all screening personnel remain properly trained, certified, and qualified.
  • Communicate operational issues, security concerns, and regulatory updates to staff and management.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between CAS, customer representatives, airport authorities, and TSA inspectors.
  • Conduct performance coaching, corrective action, and disciplinary processes as necessary.
  • Monitor screening equipment functionality and coordinate required maintenance activities.
  • Protect Sensitive Security Information (SSI) in accordance with federal regulations.
  • Prepare reports and documentation as required by CAS, LCAG, TSA, and airport authorities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
