About The Position

IntermodeX is seeking a Cargo Coordinator to join their Import Transload team in Prince Rupert. The Cargo Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating cargo movement to meet documentation and cargo cut-offs, optimizing customer service and company costs. This role also provides ongoing support to the Logistics Coordinators desk and Operations Supervisors.

Requirements

  • A Post-Secondary education in transportation, logistics, international trade, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of logistics experience.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word).
  • Proficiency in English is required.
  • Strong communication, comprehension, and analytical skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of exceptional customer service and professionalism.
  • Positive and outgoing with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure of deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a self-directed capacity or in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide necessary Warehouse operators with documentation for shipping/receiving.
  • Schedule necessary truck requirements with Logistics Coordinator.
  • Plan weekly loading schedules for all customer orders in alignment with the Operations Supervisors.
  • Liaise with trucking companies to organize the inbound receiving to the facility utilizing the inbound receiving portal.
  • Complete data entry into Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Provide customers with monthly inventory reporting from WMS.
  • Assist the Operations Supervisor and Logistic Coordinator to achieve maximum loading efficiencies with the daily labor plan.
  • Request documentation or cargo cutoff extensions as required.
  • Liaise with customers to confirm loading schedules for orders and assist the Operations Supervisors and CSR Teams to ensure timely communications with each customer of changes or challenges encountered during the loading, documentation, and transportation process.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of contingencies for changes or service failures in the supply chain.
  • Assist in the implementation of corrective action as required for terminal changes.
  • Assist in developing and implementing proposed recommendations and SOP’s to increase operational efficiencies.
