About The Position
This role involves supporting seniors in the Columbia area, focusing on building meaningful relationships to help them remain safe and independent at home. A significant portion of clients live with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia, requiring a caregiver who is calm, patient, observant, and confident. The position emphasizes providing comfort and stability, adapting to changing needs, and offering companionship. Overnight caregivers will assist with nighttime routines, provide reassurance, help with personal care, and respond to client needs during the night. The role is ideal for those who excel in memory care and are dedicated to providing dependable care.
Requirements
- Professional caregiving experience required
- Experience with personal care, transfers, and walkers
- Comfortable supporting clients with higher care needs
- Able to remain alert and responsive throughout overnight shifts
- Able to follow recipes and prepare meals
- Comfortable working in homes with pets
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance
- Able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
- Must be available to work at least one weekend shift each week
- Open or flexible availability, and/or overnight availability

- Strong Alzheimer’s and dementia care experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Support safe transfers, walking, and mobility
- Provide overnight supervision, reassurance, and redirection as needed
- Assist with toileting and nighttime routines
- Offer companionship and meaningful engagement
- Assist with hearing aids
- Prepare meals and follow recipes
- Complete light housekeeping and laundry
- Encourage walking, exercise, and outdoor time
- Support activities such as music, conversation, and community outings
- Observe and communicate changes or concerns to the office
- Arrive on time and reliably fulfill scheduled shifts
