About The Position

Fair Oaks Estates is hiring a full-time morning Caregiver at its assisted living and memory care community in Carmichael, California. The Caregiver provides direct resident care during the morning routine, helping residents start the day clean, fed, comfortable, and treated with dignity. The role serves the same residents over time and includes supporting people with dementia. Caregivers do not administer medications; that responsibility belongs to Med Techs. The shift runs from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM on a continuous four-days-on, two-days-off rotation. Days off rotate through the calendar, so weekends off occur regularly, but the schedule includes some weekends and holidays. Schedules are managed through an app that allows employees to view upcoming rotations, pick up open shifts, swap shifts, and request time off. Starting pay is $16.90 per hour, with a range up to $17.90 per hour. Overtime is paid at time-and-a-half per California law, and raises are based on performance, experience, and attendance. Fair Oaks Estates provides paid initial training and annual paid continuing education. Regular full-time employees are eligible for health coverage beginning the first of the month after their 90-day anniversary and paid vacation after one year of continuous employment. All employees accrue paid sick leave at one hour for every 30 hours worked, available after 90 days. The position requires hands-on personal care, including bathing and toileting assistance, and the ability to assist with resident transfers. Caregivers must wear their own scrubs and low-heeled, closed-toe, slip-resistant shoes. No cell phones are allowed on the floor. A mandatory staff meeting takes place once a month. Fingerprint clearance, a health screening, and a TB test must be completed before the first day, at the applicant’s expense.
