About The Position

Visiting Angels of Tyler is hiring caregivers to serve clients throughout East Texas, including Canton, Ben Wheeler, Murchison, Tyler, Jacksonville, and Palestine. Caregivers enrich clients’ quality of life and support their wellness in accordance with individualized care plans. The role involves personal care, companionship, household assistance, mobility support, meal preparation, medication reminders, and accompanying clients on errands or appointments. Caregivers must respond responsibly to emergencies and report health changes or unusual incidents. Advanced training opportunities in dementia and Alzheimer’s care are available.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
First Aid and emergency response training; training is provided if needed.
Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage multiple duties.
Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while following applicable dietary constraints.
Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including background checks.
Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

Nice To Haves

Interest in advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
Plan and prepare meals with clients while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
Handle light housekeeping duties.
Report health changes or unusual incidents.
Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
