About The Position
We are seeking DSPs to care for individuals with intellectual disabilities in a residential or classroom environment. Work as little as once per month, up to 40 hours per week. Schedule and pay varies by campus and shift. Available shifts include: 1st, 2nd, 3rd or weekends at main campus. 12 hour shifts at Center for Autism (7am-7pm or 7pm-7am). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. Employee should make employer aware of any request for accommodations in a timely manner, either upon hire or as soon as need for accommodation arises.
Requirements
- High School diploma required
- Candidate should be able to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screen. (no felonies, no convictions involving abuse, assault, neglect)
Nice To Haves
- Valid Driver's licence preferred
- Experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism preferred but not required (most important is to show up and want to care for others)
Responsibilities
- Assisting students with daily activities, general functions and behavior modification programs
- Ensuring a smooth transition between shifts by being on-time, organized and ready for students.
- Performing cleaning tasks
