About The Position

Visiting Angels Columbus is seeking compassionate caregivers to support senior adults and others in need in Columbus and surrounding communities. Caregivers provide companionship and assistance with daily activities, including medication, mobility, personal care, meal preparation, shopping, transportation, and light housekeeping. The role offers an opportunity to support local families and to develop caregiving skills through advanced training in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and being a caregiver.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
Good time-management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including for appointments and walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
Do clients’ shopping or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping tasks that clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
