Caregiver
About The Position
Consumer Direct Care Network is recruiting a caregiver to accompany a man with special needs from Madison, Wisconsin, to Buffalo, New York, for an extended-weekend family visit. The trip has not yet been booked while the member seeks a suitable caregiver. The role may potentially become a permanent position supporting the individual at home. The caregiver will provide assistance during the trip, with the member authorized for 13 hours of care per day. Daily hours may vary based on the member’s needs and schedule. Pay is $20.00 per hour. If hired by the member or their Managing Party, that party—not CDCN—will be the legal employer and will have authority over hiring and dismissal.
Requirements
- Prior experience with skilled caregiving is required.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Nice To Haves
- A valid driver’s license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide needed assistance throughout the trip.
- Assist with transfers.
- Prepare meals and set them up.
- Support dressing and toileting as needed.
- Assist with medications or reminders when required.
- Accompany the member on outings.
- Ensure the member’s safety, comfort, and companionship throughout the trip.
