About The Position

Visiting Angels El Paso is seeking part-time caregivers to support senior adults and others in need in El Paso and the surrounding West Texas region. Caregivers provide compassionate, one-on-one assistance, companionship, and support to clients and their families. Duties include light housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care, mobility assistance, and transportation. The role offers advanced training opportunities in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and a true caregiver attitude.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
Good time management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Background in home care or elderly care.
History of community involvement.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
