About The Position

The Caregiver is a per diem, non-exempt, hourly position reporting to the Health & Wellness Director. The role assists residents with aspects of daily life specified in their care plans, including personal care, food service, housekeeping, laundry, behavior management, socialization, and activities. The position pays $20.00–$21.00 per hour. The Caregiver helps maintain residents’ safety, comfort, dignity, and confidentiality, provides care during assigned shifts, documents services, and promptly reports changes in residents’ conditions to a supervisor.

Requirements

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Home Health Aid (HHA).
Ability to perform duties involving standing, walking, sitting, fine and gross motor skills, reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, and smelling.
Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds; intermittent lifting and supporting of residents is required.
Must use proper body mechanics.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge and experience working with the elderly population.
Dementia experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide resident care, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding, as outlined in care plans.
Maintain the safety, comfort, dignity, and confidentiality of residents.
Escort residents to meals and activities.
Ensure assigned residents are clean, neatly dressed and groomed, safe, and fed during assigned shifts.
Document all services provided to assigned residents during the shift.
Immediately report any change in a resident’s condition to a supervisor.
