About The Position

Join the KFI team in Millinocket! We are seeking a Full-Time Caregiver to support a kind and funny 75-year-old gentleman in his own apartment in East Millinocket. He lives independently with his cat and is very involved in his community. He sometimes experiences auditory hallucinations and is extremely hard of hearing, requiring patient communication at eye level. He needs support with monitoring vital signs (blood pressure, oxygen, temperature, blood sugar), staying hydrated, and managing pain. The ideal candidate is patient, kind, and dedicated to helping him maintain his independence in his home and community.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Valid Maine Driver’s License (Required)
• A Registered and Insured Vehicle (Required)
• Evening and weekend availability

Responsibilities

• Monitor blood pressure, oxygen levels, temperature, and blood sugar levels.
• Support the client in staying hydrated.
• Assist with pain management.
• Provide overnight safety monitoring.
• Communicate effectively with the client, understanding his communication style.
• Support the client in maintaining his independence.
• Engage with the client in a way that fosters a positive environment.
